Meryl Carson (they/she/he) was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Their art training has included painting, drawing, artist books and sculpture, and their theatre training has included lighting, scenic, props, and costume design/tech, as well as backstage work. During their time at Lawrence University, Meryl acted as Student Scene Shop Manager, working on carpentry, painting, and lighting for plays, musicals, and operas. Meryl graduated in 2020 with majors in studio art and theatre arts (design and production focus).

After a year-long break, Meryl returned to theatre through Village Theatre KIDSTAGE’s Summer Independent Program. They acted as Assistant Technical Director for The Spitfire Grill and Urinetown and were also part of the light hang and run crew for both shows. Since then, Meryl has gone on to do overhire carpentry and electrics work for various theatre companies around Seattle. In 2022, Meryl started working at Seattle Children’s Theatre as Stage Operations Swing.
